SNOW STORM REMINDER:
 
PLEASE REMOVE VEHICLES FROM PUBLIC ROADWAYS FOR SNOW PLOWING EQUIPMENT PRIOR TO SNOW EVENTS. VEHICLES PARKED ON PUBLIC STREETS ARE SUBJECT TO TICKETS AND TOWING.

PLEASE MAKE EVERY ATTEMPT TO AVOID DRIVING ON SNOW COVERED ROADS.  DRIVING CAN BE VERY HAZARDOUS AND MAY IMPEDE SNOW REMOVAL EFFORTS.

SNOW EMERGENCY ROUTES ARE ALWAYS PLOWED FIRST THROUGHOUT THE TOWNSHIP PRIOR TO ANY OTHER ROAD AREAS.  DPW ALSO ASSISTS THE POLICE, FIRE DEPT. AND EMS PERSONNEL BY CLEARING PATHS TO EMERGENCY CALLS DURING SNOW EVENTS. DEPENDING ON THE CALL VOLUME, CALL LOCATIONS AND SNOWFALL AMOUNTS, OTHER SNOW CLEARING EFFORTS MAY BE DELAYED.

ALTERNATE CROSSING GUARDS WANTED

The Logan Township Police Department is seeking interested candidates for the position of Alternate Crossing Guard. Alternate Guards serve as-needed and are compensated for time worked. Candidates applying for the position shall have morning and afternoon availability to perform the required task. Interested individuals are to apply in person at the Logan Township Police Dept. 125 Main St. Bridgeport NJ 08014. All Individuals applying for the position are subject to a criminal background check.

HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
 

The NJ Department of Community Affairs is accepting applications for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program from November 1, 2011 through April 30, 2012.  The NJDCA administers this federal program which provides low-income households with money to help pay their heating bills and makes provisions for emergency heating system services and emergency fuel assistance.

2011 MUNICIPAL BUDGET

The 2011 Logan Township Municipal budget was passed by Mayor Minor and Council at the April 19th Council meeting.  The budget represents the 4th consecutive year with no tax increase to our residents. There are no reductions in services and the budget includes approximately $700,000 of long-term debt reduction.

NEW JERSEY HOMEKEEPER PROGRAM HELPS RESIDENTS AVOID FORECLOSURE


The NJ Homekeeper Program is funded through a grant by the US Treasury.  The program provides funding to cover arrearages and/or an approved amount of a homeowner's monthly mortgage payment including property taxes, property insurance and mortgage insurance.  Eligible homeowners may receive financial assistance of up to $48,000 for a period up to 24 months.  For more information: www.njhomekeeper.gov

SWEDESBORO CURBSIDE PICKUP GOING WELL & NEW SHARED SERVICE BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 2012

Beginning January 1, 2011, Logan Township Public Works began providing curbside pickup services for trash, recyclable materials and yard waste as part of a Shared Services Agreement (SSA) with Swedesboro. The SSA is a great way for both municipalities to reduce costs for their taxpayers. Logan manages the program and utilizes our personnel and equipment to perform the weekly curbside service.  On January 1, 2012 Logan will begin another shared service with Harrison Township for curbside pickup services.

LOGAN WEBSITE IS NOW AVAILABLE IN 50 LANGUAGES

The Township website is now available in up to 50 Languages. You can check this out by using the google translate menu in the upper right corner to select a language.

POOL SAFETY ALERT- CONSTRUCTION & ZONING PERMITS ARE REQUIRED FOR POOLS >24 inches 

State Construction Codes require that any pool - even inflatable pools - that are 24 inches deep or greater obtain Construction and Zoning permits. Permit applications can be obtained through the Logan Township Construction office.  Construction Office and Zoning Code Enforcement personnel are also available to answer any questions that you may have.  The office can be reached at 467-3626.
 
LOGAN LIQUORS is now LIQUOR MART

The former Logan Liquors store on Route 322 at Route 295 has undergone both a name change and a significant expansion.  Liquor Mart will be celebrating a grand opening on Friday July 22nd.  Please stop by and see their tremendous inventory and wonderful new spacious layout
